The Points:
The Formula D competitors are arriving today at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe Washington in preparation for Friday’s practice and Saturday’s main event. Samuel Hubinette enters Friday’s event with a series leading 373 points leading 2nd place Rhys Millen (364) and third place Tanner Foust (303). So far this season Samuel has won two events (Chicago + Long Beach) with Rhys (Sonoma) and Tanner (Atlanta) each claiming a single win. Rounding out the top 5 are Daijiro Yoshihara (279) and Casper Canul (263), with a best placing of 3rd (Long Beach) and 2nd (Sonoma) respectively. The only other drivers to place in the top 3 so far this season are Tyler McQuarrie with a 3nd Place in Chicago and Kenji Yamanaka with a 3rd place showing at Sonoma.

The Machines:
It looks like with only 9 points separating Rhys and Samuel that neither competitor will be swapping into their much anticipated “2006″ rides, despite fans desire to see the Pontiac Solstice and Dodge Charger doing battle. Mitsuru Haruguchi has arrived in Washington and will be piloting a copper colored LHD Nissan s13, Hiro Sumida is back in his Toyota Chaser from 2005 and the start of 2006, Hiromi Kajukuma is now behind the wheel of grey and orange Toyota Levin and rounding out the changes, Calvin Wan will once again be driving his white RX-7.
The Course:
In a practice session earlier in the week Rhys Millen was clocked with entry speeds of 110 MPH, but the official Formula D competition course has yet to be set up. Currently several of the professional drivers are practicing with some of the local talent.
Not in Attendance:
Mike Peters (formally of Bubba Drift) after a spectacular showing in qualifying and a Top 16 finish at Sonoma has not made it to the Washington event nor has Rod Millen who has been absent from competition since his Top 16 finish at Long Beach.
