Nick Hogan, a star of VH1’s ‘Hogan Knows Best’ and son of famous wrestler Hulk Hogan, is scheduled to drive at a last minute Formula D Qualifier this Sunday at Irwindale Speedway. Nick will likely be driving the Mopar Viper previously driven by current Formula D points leader Sam Hubinette. If licensed, Nick will be eligible to compete in the Formula D Pro series. This event will be the fourth and final Formula D ‘Qualifier’, after which ‘Qualifiers’ will be replaced by the Formula D: Pro-am series, as the official licensing vector for drivers wishing to compete in the Formula D Pro Series. A maximum of twenty drivers will be allowed to compete at this qualifier (half of the number allowed at previous qualifiers).
We asked Formula D about their decision to hold a qualifier so late in the 2006 season and Andy Luk (Formula D’s Operations Manager) told us, “We wanted to give a chance for drivers that did not get a license through petition a chance to gain a license.”

From what I hear, Formula D isn’t making a dime off this. So, this is a good opportunity for anyone who wanted their license but missed previous qualifiers.

Not just anyone can walk up and say “Hey. I wanna qualify for FD.” can they? And if so, what would they drive? Do they let you drive a FD car? Or bring your own rig? I think $$ got slipped to mopar on this one…not FD.

Anyone can go for there FD liscence as long as they pass saftery regulations and all that good crap.

yes, you have to pass “saftery” regulations, but more importantly there were NO MORE FORMULA D FEEDERS PLANNED FOR THIS YEAR! San Diego was planned to be the last one, so why is there another? is it because certain big-sponsor drivers want to get licensed? or is it because some drivers who haven’t qualified top 16 OR gotten their license through the feeder have been allowed to compete, causing drama with drivers who DID try to get their license unsuccsessfully. I’m not saying FD was paid off to put on this event, but I AM going to say that it’s pretty bullshit that they’re putting this on with somewhat obvious intent of pleasing big sponsors.

Nah not really, he has $$$ which is what bought him the swedes car, tell me that everyone else doesn’t work hard to get a nice drift machine, then work hard to maintain it, and build up your skills then I’ll believe that a daddy has nothing to do with it.

Hey everyone i found this website. well i am a big drift fan. and all i have to say is nick “HULK”S SON” he sucks lol.
