Club4AG Community On the Way Back

March 23rd, 2007 - DriftLive.com

We received the following email from Club4AG.com Founder Moto Miwa:

Hi guys,

It’s been exactly 3 months since the BBS at Club4AG (the forum) crashed with catastrophic hardware failure. The culprit was faulty Hard Disk Drive Controller embedded in the motherboard of our Dual XEON server. It was running 97% task level 24/7 accommodating database inquiries and sorting through about 20,000 archived messages for the approximately 13,000 registered users.

A total upgrade of hardware, server, and pipeline to internet was apparent and immediately needed, but we never expected such premature failure of it while things were still under planning.

It was a huge task and cost to build yet a larger system as it was already a commercial-grade server hardware that failed. We opted to use an outside resource this time and it took us a while to find such robust account with power and reliability as well as reasonable cost.

Club4AG’s needs now surpass web needs of most enterprise business web servers!! (Well I don’t know now that it’s been down for few months after 9 years of service)

Anyway, last month I found a pretty reasonable host and I have worked with my IT team and Koji to migrate all of our accounts data to the new server.

It is at Rely.net where they serve HONDA-TECH and VWVORTEX reliably and quickly.

Also this time, we are enlisting Google to serve ads and to pay for our web presence so you can continue to use Club4AG free from charges.

I think we’ve found the right solutions to expand on future needs at this time, thanks to our partners and web administrators and moderators.

We’re in the final process at this time to get this new forum back on Club4AG’s website.

It’s great to hear that Club4AG will soon be ‘back in business’. Club4AG and it’s community have been part of the foundation since it’s arrival in the U.S.
