Chris Forsberg has opened up a gigantic lead in the race for the Triple Crown with a win at both Atlanta and Sonoma. He currently leads Tanner Foust by a whopping 59 points. In the scenario where Chris Qualifies 16th and is eliminated in the Top 16 with Tanner qualifying first and taking the event win, we get Chris (+ 55 points) at 269 and Tanner (+ 108) at 263. With only the Irwindale event remaining, Chris would need to fail to make an appearance in the Top 16 in order for Tanner to take away the Triple Crown.

  1. Those standings are quite interesting. Tony Angelo is doing better than I though he was. I’d love to see any of the guys from DA win the championship. Can’t rule out Tanner or Gushi. Those two attract many fans to the sport.
