Going door-handle-to-door-handle with some of the biggest names in drifting, Chris Forsberg took Maxxis’ first Formula D podium with a win May 11-12 at Road Atlanta.
Forsberg qualified second of the top 32 drivers, advancing to victory in the finals through tandem runs of the top 16. He was a clear crowd favorite, with fans chanting his name throughout the event and choosing his Maxxis Tires Nissan 350Z for the Round 2 Meguiar’s Cleanest Drift Award. With this victory, Forsberg is second in the race for the overall championship.
“That Chris Forsberg is able to win against top drivers like Ken Gushi, Rhys Millen, and Darren MacNamara really proves how talented he is. Everyone at Maxxis is really proud of his performance, and we’re elated with this victory. We’d also like to give a shout-out to the guys from LS Automotive, who kept his car in great running condition throughout the event, said Brandon Bentley, automotive sales representative for Maxxis.
A member of the Drift Alliance, Forsberg runs the MA-Z1 DRIFT, designed to deliver both great traction and extra smoke. Maxxis congratulates Chris Forsberg and thanks him for choosing the brand of champions.
