So it appears that this whole Scion tC thing is really starting to catch on. EverythingDrift is reporting that Tanner will be stepping out of his twice Championship winning 350z and into a RWD converted Scion. Hopefully Tanner and team will be a more competitive then Gushi and the RSR car were in 2008.

I hope this does not mean that we will be seeing more FF to RWD cars on the FD circuit. I can understand Toyota’s interest in drifting, but maybe they should provide a true RWD platform to do so. Some of the essence of drifting is staying closely related street fairing cars. What’s next? A RWD Ford Focus and RWD Honda Civic Hybrid Drift car? Trying to give the new breed of econobox car some hi-performance cred is starting to get tired.
Maybe we just need to introduce a FF drifting series to keep all these manufactures of mild performance vehicles satisfied.

why? It must be a awesome deal Tanner got or Rockstar did because I don’t know why you would change such a winning formula lke Tanner in his 350. Everyone that has done really well and then changed platforms has fallen off the next year. Hope Tanner can keep rockin.

I don’t want to sound like I am down on Tanner’s skills as a driver, nor do I doubt that they can make a tC competitive. I just don’t like how far removed these cars a becoming from their street counterparts.
