Drift Button Conquers All!

Adding a diff makes a non-working Mustang into a Drifting Mustang. No, it really does. You know how everyone is always saying how drifting is all about coilovers and LSD? They are right, diff makes all the diff.

Rhys Millen to Jump from 2007 into 2008

December 9th, 2007 by: Geoffrey Chandler | 6 Comments »

In non-drifting news, it appears that Rhys Millen has convinced the crazy marketing fellows over at Red Bull to fund a Guinness World Record attempt.

“Maddison, a freestyle motocross star from Australia, will attempt to jump the length of a football field (more than 300 feet) to set a new motorcycle distance jumping world record. Millen, a champion drifter and movie stunt driver hailing from New Zealand, will attempt the first-ever backflip of an off-road racing truck. Representatives from the Guinness Book of World Records will be in attendance to validate each jump.”

A site setup for the event will be launching after 12/13 at www.newyearnolimits.com.

2007 has been a great year for DriftLive, we got to see far more events then last year, we built a driftcar, and we got to share drifting with the world. I want to take a minute to thank all of the companies and individuals who made this possible. All of these great companies are a part of what keeps drifting going.

Thanks to our 2007 Sponsors:

DriftLive Grassroots Ad 06

I also want to thank the readers, this year, DriftLive.com served up just shy of 1.8 million pages to over 200,000 people and our youtube videos were viewed over 150,000 times.

I am excited to do it all again in 2008.

DriftLive.com, What happened to the Event Scores?

November 23rd, 2007 by: Geoffrey Chandler | 6 Comments »

Over the last two years I have come to the realization that the success and growth of drifting is not based on scores and rankings. In fact, a concentration on scores and rankings may cause potential fans of the sport to miss out on what makes it so great.

D1GP USA, under Fire Again?

the content, driving skill and overall entertainment level that is prevalent in the D1 series is beyond anything in the world and we find this to be a horribly underutilized resource. Even though there are other successful drifting properties in this market, D1 should, under ideal circumstances, be the ambassador of the sport to the world.
