Nopi Drift Series is Canceled
The Wrecked Magazine blog has reported that the Nopi Drift series is no more. Read NOPI Drift is no more!. I am a bit sad to see another American drifting series fall apart, as it offered a forum for up and coming drivers to build the skills and sponsorship packages needed to compete at a […]
Formula D Top Ten After Las Vegas
After McNamara, Gittin, and Grunewald all failed to join the Top 16 at the Las Vegas round, the points spread in the Top 10 spots is starting to widen a bit. Fortunately for our fallen heroes, newcomers Yoshioka, Kondo, and Orido managed to snatch a significant amount of Championship points and prevent any significant movement […]
General Motors Dominates American Drifting?
The Cars:
The manufacture breakdown for vehicles in the Top 10 spots represents a shift in the drifting landscape, with GM makes and models accounting for 5 of the top 10 cars. Conrad Grunewald in a Chevy Corvette, Rhys Millen and Ryan Tureck in Pontiac Solstices, Darren MacNamara in a Saturn Sky, and Daijiro Yoshihara in […]
Forsberg and Hubinette Tied for First after Atlanta
If you have been watching Formula D for the last two of years you just might know that the leader after Atlanta has gone on to take the entire series both years. This year things are a bit more interesting as the field is much tighter at that top. The top 10 drivers only represent a spread of 52 championship points, compared to 78 points in 2007 and 127 in 2006.
With 6 podium finishers so far this year (Millen, Taketori, Tureck, Forsberg, Hubinette, Tureck) nobody has yet to stand on the podium for more then a single event. With the next two events happening at tracks that are being introduced this year (Englishtown and Las Vegas Motor Speedway), this season could shape up to be the most competitive yet.
As the 2005 and 2004 seasons did not include the Long Beach event, I have not included them here in my list. You can find all of the scores that I have maintained over the last 4 seasons on the Formula Drift Scores Page.
Enjoy!

2007 has been a great year for DriftLive, we got to see far more events then last year, we built a driftcar, and we got to share drifting with the world. I want to take a minute to thank all of the companies and individuals who made this possible. All of these great companies are […]
DriftLive.com, What happened to the Event Scores?
Over the last two years I have come to the realization that the success and growth of drifting is not based on scores and rankings. In fact, a concentration on scores and rankings may cause potential fans of the sport to miss out on what makes it so great.
D1GP USA, under Fire Again?
the content, driving skill and overall entertainment level that is prevalent in the D1 series is beyond anything in the world and we find this to be a horribly underutilized resource. Even though there are other successful drifting properties in this market, D1 should, under ideal circumstances, be the ambassador of the sport to the world.
Rhys Millen Docked Points for Illegal Car Modifications?
“Due to a random post race impound and inspection conducted by Formula DRIFT officials the RMR team and driver Rhys Millen was issued a 17 point deduction to their overall point total and remains in the 4th place position.”
A Word With Conrad Grunewald
DriftLive.com catches up with Conrad Grunewald following his return from Canada to talk about his breakout performance at Formula D Sonoma.
Forza 2 Drifting Sucks at Drifting
Turn 10’s multi-million dollar franchise got plenty right but, fails to deliver a driving experience that is enjoyable for noobs OR veterans and completely falls on it’s face when it’s time to get your slide on.
Haruguchi Headed for a Second Win at Road Atlanta?
During the Top 16 Haruguchi will first face off against Bill Sherman. No longer sand bagging, Haruguchi shows Bill how he qualified in 1st and moves onto the Top 8.
